Pitless type Weighbridge does not require construction of any pit and it can be installed on any level and hard surface. Since the platform, load cells and other equipment are place on the surface, the weighbridge is at some height and so there is a need to construct ramps on two sides for the vehicles to approach and exit the weighbridge. The requirement of ramps increases the usage of space. Also the vehicles can mount on weighbridge only from two directions unlike the pit type weighbridge where the vehicles can approach from any side. Pitless weighbridge are regular full-length weighbridges with RCC foundation without construction of pit. It is suitable where excavation work for foundation is difficult or pit construction is expensive. As the platform is above the ground, ramps are provided on two sides and vehicles can approach the weighbridge from these two directions.

This type of weighbridges require more space as compared to pit type weigh bridge. Pitless weighbridge offers benefits like less civil work, easy maintenance and no water logging problem.

Mobile Weighbridge are steel fabricated and modular in design and comes fitted with modules like steel fabricated modular bottom frame which would have all the equipment including digital load cells which acts as foundation, top frame decks where vehicles are mounted etc. The load cells are installed between the bottom frame and the top frame. The factory steel fabricated bottom frame acts like foundation which just needs to be placed on smooth and plain surface.
